About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our team at Potomac Fund Management, Inc. in Bethesda, Maryland. This position will report to the CEO/COO and is an on-site position.


The primary project of the Senior Software Developer would be to continue developing our investment proposal and risk analysis software called "Guardrails", working with internal stakeholders & contracted developers, develop new features, and to work towards full release to our client base.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, test, and delivery
  • Develop proprietary web applications using a variety of technologies
  • Develop integrations with software partners, making use of modern API + security practices
  • Senior-level applicants should demonstrate application architecture knowledge and practical experience in incrementally improving application design over time
  • Collaborate with internal teams & contracted external developers
  • Continually look for ways to improve & evolve our web applications/technologies
  • Mitigate bugs & roadblocks as quickly as possible
  • Manage stakeholders to deliver deployments precisely & efficiently


Requirements:

  • Must live in the D.C. Metro area and be able to work onsite in Bethesda, MD.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years developing web applications
  • Deep knowledge of programming languages
  • Tech Stack = React + Python (Django or Flask or similar) + AWS/GCP/etc. The more experience you have with these, the better
  • Must be familiar with both front & back-end design & development
  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering/computer science, or relevant work experience
