Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Coordinate Shipping Activities: Oversee the efficient operation of the shipping department, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of items for shipment.
  • Lead and Guide the Shipping Team: Provide guidance and support to the shipping team, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Manage Shipping Operations: Handle the loading and unloading of trucks, physically relocating bread/bun stacks to the shipping dock, and managing the repetitive moving of products for depot locations.
  • Inspect and Address Discrepancies: Inspect incoming shipments, unloading semi-trailers, and addressing discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Organize and Load Products: Organize and load cased bread/bun products onto pallets, utilizing electric pallet jacks and stretch wrap banders.
  • Supervise Computer Functions: Supervise computer functions for accurate tracking of goods, ensuring seamless communication with the dispatch department.
  • Collaborate with Dispatch Team: Work collaboratively with the dispatch team to ensure efficient and effective shipping operations.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Attention to Detail: Possess strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all aspects of shipping operations.
  • Strong Multitasking Capabilities: Demonstrate the ability to multitask effectively, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • Reliability and Problem-Solving Skills: Exhibit reliability and effective problem-solving skills, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring seamless communication with the team and dispatch department.
  • Computer Proficiency: Be proficient in computer usage, with experience in shipping software and systems.

Physical Demands:

  • Continuous Standing and Walking: Continuous standing and walking on concrete floors and trailer beds.
  • Frequent Pushing/Pulling: Frequent pushing/pulling of transport racks and bread trays.
  • Regular Bending and Lifting: Regular bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, lifting, and carrying of bakery products and equipment.
  • Handling and Grasping: Handling and grasping bakery product trays, transport racks, and boxes.
  • Frequent Lifting and Moving: Frequent lifting and moving of items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Requirements:

  • Reliable Transportation: Possess reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Attendance Standards: Meet attendance standards for the 24/7 production facility.
