Job Summary

Memphis-Shelby County Schools is seeking a dynamic Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in providing prevention, assessment, and remediation services for students with language impairment and speech impairment.

Key Responsibilities

Assess students' communication skills to identify communication disorders and develop recommendations for treatment.
Collaborate with parents, teachers, physicians, and other professionals to communicate information, resolve issues, and provide services in compliance with established guidelines.
Develop treatment plans, interventions, and educational materials to minimize the adverse impact of communication disorders.
Instruct support staff on communicative disorders, use of assistive devices, and feeding techniques, and implement prescribed treatment plans.
Interpret medical reports within the scope of Speech/Language Pathologist's experience and goals to provide information and ensure treatment/intervention plans are appropriate.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Communicative Disorders, Speech and Hearing Language Impaired, Speech Pathology, or a related degree.
Master's degree in Communicative Disorders, Speech and Language Impaired, Speech Pathology, or any related degree in the field of speech & language preferred.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association.
