Job Responsibilities:
As a registered nurse in the gastroenterology field, also known as an endoscopy nurse, your primary role will be to deliver care to patients undergoing treatment for various digestive disorders, including Crohn's disease, colon cancer, acid reflux, and irritable bowel syndrome.
In this capacity, you will work in settings such as hospitals, GI specialist offices, or ambulatory surgery centers, collaborating closely with gastroenterologists and the GI care team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting with endoscopic and GI procedures.
2. Performing X-rays and CT scans.
3. Monitoring patient vital signs.
4. Initiating IVs.
5. Providing patient education and support.
As a vital member of the healthcare team, you will ensure that patients receive safe, high-quality care while offering them moral support throughout their treatment journey.
Qualifications:
At least 1 year of recent acute care experience in the gastroenterology specialty is required.
