Cass County Government is in search of a skilled equipment operator. This role is essential for the upkeep of the infrastructure that supports our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance on roads
  • Perform snow removal on roads and parking areas
  • Engage in road repairs and mowing of ditches
  • Carry out daily inspections and assist in equipment repairs

Operate various machinery, including backhoes, skid steers, dozers, loaders, motor graders, tandem axle trucks, and snowplows, all vital for road maintenance and construction. This position also involves manual labor for repairing roads and bridges. The role requires availability for after-hours work, weekends, and holidays during emergencies. Physical demands include prolonged standing, lifting up to 70 pounds, and frequent bending and stretching.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in heavy equipment operation
  • Ability to follow instructions and troubleshoot issues
  • Familiarity with construction equipment and materials
  • Experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Possession of a Class A license

This position necessitates a prompt response to work requirements during emergencies.
