The General Service Technician is a key member of our team at Pep Boys, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and performing a variety of automotive services. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform Basic Automotive Services: Mount and balance tires, perform tire repairs, change oil, inspect vehicles, and perform other less technical services.
- Provide Excellent Customer Service: Deliver a positive customer experience, provide advice on automotive services and repairs, and sell recommended services.
- Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Environment: Ensure the tire and service department is clean and safe for employees and customers.
- Diagnose and Repair Automotive Issues: Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive issues, including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling, and electrical systems.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Automotive Technology: Continuously learn new technical information and techniques through formal training sessions.
- Valid Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license.
- Passion for Automotive Industry: Passion for a career as a technician in the automotive industry.
- Eager to Learn: Eager to learn and competitive drive to succeed.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Availability: Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
- Background Check: Successful completion of pre-employment background check.

The pay range for this position is between $15.00 to $19.80 per hour based on experience.
