About the Role

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Your exceptional communication skills will enable you to connect with patients, explain procedures, and put them at ease. You will work closely with radiologists to deliver accurate imaging results, and your technical competence will be demonstrated through effective interpretation of physician orders and selection of appropriate software options and imaging parameters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications and aseptic injection technique, as well as radiation safety and regulations.
  • Produces high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
  • Trains new technologists and/or PC's.
  • Trouble-shoots scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N) required.
  • State license, as required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Valid state driver's license, as applicable.
  • 1-2 years' experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies preferred.

Work Environment

You will work in various environments, including freestanding outpatient centers, mobile coaches, or hospital-based/inpatient facilities. This flexibility allows you to deliver exceptional imaging care at any access point. The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit. Additionally, they will be exposed to radioactive isotopes and ionizing radiation. Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs, seeing, speaking, and hearing to communicate with patients.
