Job Summary

The Janitorial Manager is responsible for overseeing the supervision, inspection, and control of all custodial and related services within assigned contracts. Key responsibilities include:

  • Allocating work responsibilities among subordinates effectively.
  • Supervising and coordinating the work activities of assigned areas, including common areas, service hallways, and food courts.
  • Approving vacation time, overtime, and timecards.
  • Training custodians on work-related equipment and supervising, motivating, disciplining, and evaluating staff.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Ensuring contract requirements are met and schedules are maintained to satisfy client expectations.
  • Resolving client concerns and performing inspections to ensure satisfactory job performance.
  • Meeting with subordinates to review status and implement corrective measures for deficiencies.
  • Monitoring supply use and inventory levels.
  • Ensuring all equipment is in proper working condition.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with a focus on responsiveness, attention to detail, and excellent follow-through.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities, with excellent customer service skills.
  • Minimum of five to ten years of recent experience in supervising custodial and related employees performing cleaning functions in major facilities.
  • General hands-on knowledge of routine nightly and daytime facility cleaning and related services.
  • Working hours may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and on-call for emergency situations.
  • High School education or equivalent preferred, with bilingual English/Spanish skills a plus.
  • Candidates must be able to pass a background check, including criminal history.
