Job Requirements:
  • One year of experience in nursing, with a focus on intensive care unit (ICU) or critical care unit (CCU) nursing
  • State RN license or RN license from a participating state in the NLC required
  • Proficiency in EPIC (electronic health records system)
  • English proficiency (Speak, Read, Write)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, medical record review, and clinical data analysis
  • Evaluate patients' responses and intervene to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Develop and implement patient care plans and monitor outcomes in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
  • Provide patient and family education, assess learning readiness, meet needs, and evaluate teaching effectiveness
  • Recognize patients or their designees as full partners in care, providing compassionate and coordinated care respecting their preferences, values, and needs
  • Deliver care with respect for cultural differences and human diversity
  • Delegate tasks to nonRN personnel following state nursing board and hospital policies
  • Use time, personnel, equipment, and supplies efficiently to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care
  • Serve as a professional role model, demonstrating ethical, legal, and professional nursing processes
  • Manage resources and patient flow by matching nursing competencies with patient and unit needs
  • Apply standards of care, hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice
  • Function effectively within nursing and interprofessional teams to achieve quality patient care
  • Precept and mentor new staff or nursing students as needed
  • Seek learning opportunities and continuing education to maintain clinical practice skills and competence
  • Maintain professional records providing evidence of competency and lifelong learning
  • Evaluate personal integrity and nursing practice according to professional standards and guidelines
  • Participate in ongoing hospital and unit-based meetings and quality improvement initiatives
  • Use quality measures to improve performance, accountability, patient outcomes, and safe care delivery
  • Engage in unit-based quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities
  • Use current healthcare research and evidence to expand clinical knowledge, enhance role performance, and address professional issues
