Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities outlined below represent the essential functions of this position. While this list is comprehensive, it does not imply that these are the only duties required.
1. Advocate for the mission and core values of LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, and the broader community.
2. As a leader, actively contribute to community occupancy growth by positively engaging with potential residents and their families.
3. Assume overall responsibility for managing the Activities Program effectively.
4. Continuously evaluate and assess the Activities Program to identify areas for improvement and growth.
5. Manage departmental budgets efficiently.
6. Maintain accurate records of resident activities and attendance.
7. Ensure effective communication with associates, residents, families, and LCB Senior Living regarding the Activities Program.
8. Organize and facilitate resident and family events to enhance the overall program.
9. Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Director to develop community outreach initiatives and establish partnerships with local service providers.
10. Consult with residents and families to tailor activities to individual needs, including completing resident life stories.
11. Prepare and distribute monthly, weekly, and daily activity calendars.
12. Develop and manage a volunteer program to support activities.
13. Create and distribute a residence newsletter.
14. Arrange transportation and escort residents for community and external activities, including driving the community vehicle as needed.
15. Coordinate maintenance and repairs for community vehicles.
16. Provide necessary resources to Activities Program staff to ensure efficient operations.
17. Build effective relationships with community partners and coordinate team activities to ensure quality care.
18. Interview and train activities personnel.
19. Conduct timely performance reviews for associates.
20. Administer counseling, retraining, and corrective actions in accordance with community policies.
21. Review incident and accident reports, implementing changes to minimize future occurrences.
22. Ensure that staffing schedules for the Activities Program are consistently met.
23. Participate in required in-service training.
24. Ensure that all residents receive leisure services in compliance with state guidelines.
25. Engage in the Manager-on-Duty Program.
26. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Must maintain good physical and mental health. Ability to handle and manipulate equipment with dexterity. Visual and auditory acuity are essential. Must be able to lift a minimum of fifteen (15) lbs. and carry objects. Ability to push and pull carts, and engage in continuous walking, sitting, and standing. Must be able to perform tasks requiring bending, crouching, kneeling, and reaching. Must maintain a neat appearance and project a positive attitude towards service.
Qualifications:
Standard Qualifications:
a. Computer Skills: Proficient in office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
b. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Capable of developing and implementing a comprehensive activities program. Experience in managing staff and knowledge of therapeutic recreational techniques is essential.
c. Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Therapy is preferred; a certificate in Recreational Therapy may be acceptable.
d. Experience: Minimum of one year in recreational therapy; experience with geriatric populations is preferred.
e. Certificates/Licenses: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist preferred; valid driver’s license required.
