Job Description

The Mechanical Drafter is a critical position that requires exceptional communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role is part of our engineering and design team, responsible for creating detailed assemblies and manufacturing drawings for aerospace electromechanical motion control products.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Model and detail products, including housings, gears, gear-sets, and power transmission screws.
  2. Develop knowledge of motors, sensors, and control systems.
  3. Apply dimensioning and tolerancing principles.
  4. Ensure compliance with ASME Y14.5 drafting standards.
  5. Collaborate with the production, operations, and management teams.
  6. Work with external suppliers to improve design for manufacturability.
Requirements
  1. A.A.S. in Mechanical Design Technology and Drafting or equivalent degree.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in an applicable work environment.
  3. Demonstrate drafting skills and ability to select detailing fits for mechanical components.
  4. Aerospace experience is a plus.
  5. Proficiency in SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, and Microsoft Products.
Desired Qualifications
  1. Knowledge of space environments and harsh environments.
  2. Experience with SolidWorks Simulation and MRP/ERP Programs.
  3. Knowledge of certification/qualification testing per DO-160 and/or MIL-STD-810.
