This role is situated within the Nuclear Energy Materials Microanalysis division. As a Research Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in advancing innovative modeling and characterization methodologies for ceramics, including three-dimensional characterization techniques, while establishing correlations between material structure and mechanical properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in microstructural analysis and the development of constitutive modeling frameworks for high-temperature ceramics.
  • Conduct research and microanalysis on high-temperature ceramic materials.
  • Disseminate and publish research findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  • Adhere to environmental, safety, health, and quality program standards.
  • Foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility within the workplace.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with ceramic materials and microscopy techniques.
  • Experience in finite element simulations and image reconstruction methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within teams.
