Structural Steel Erection Specialist

About the Role

As a Structural Steel Erection Specialist with Trident Steel LLC, you will play a vital part in shaping the construction industry by assembling and installing structural steel frameworks for buildings and other structures.

Responsibilities:

1. Interpretation and Execution: Study and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to understand the layout and dimensions of steel structures, then execute projects accordingly.
2. Work Area Preparation: Assist in clearing debris, setting up safety equipment, and ensuring proper access for equipment and materials.
3. Steel Structure Assembly: Utilize hand and power tools to assemble steel beams, columns, and components according to project plans and specifications.
4. Component Installation: Safely position steel components into place, ensuring proper alignment and connection using bolts, welds, or other fastening methods.
5. Equipment Operation: Operate equipment such as cranes, hoists, and material lifters to lift and maneuver heavy steel components into position.
6. Welding and Quality Control: Perform welding tasks as necessary to join steel components securely, following procedures and safety guidelines, and inspect finished structures to ensure they meet quality standards.
7. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety training programs.
8. Communication and Documentation: Maintain open communication with team members, supervisors, and stakeholders to coordinate tasks and document work performed, including daily logs, materials used, and any deviations from the original plan.

Requirements and Qualifications

1. Experience and Skills: Previous experience in structural steel erection or a related field is preferred, along with proficiency in reading blueprints and using hand and power tools commonly used in steel erection.
2. Physical Stamina and Technical Ability: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, working at heights, and standing for extended periods.
3. Safety Consciousness and Teamwork: Strong commitment to safety practices and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
4. Certifications and Reliability: Possession of relevant certifications, such as welding certifications or OSHA safety training, may be advantageous, and dependability and punctuality are essential for meeting project deadlines and maintaining a productive work environment.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year
