Mold Setup Technician

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Mold Setup Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient setup and operation of injection molding machines, ensuring high-quality production output.

Responsibilities:
  • Transfer molds between the mold shop and production floor, coordinating necessary resources for setup.
  • Utilize SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Die) principles to efficiently set up machines by loading and unloading molds.
  • Prepare comprehensive work instructions and documentation for mold or component setup.
  • Employ measuring instruments to accurately qualify components during the setup process.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols on the shop floor.
  • Collaborate with managers to review daily work plans and ensure timely execution.
  • Perform screw cleaning procedures during material changeovers, meeting established time targets.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of MIM (Metal Injection Molding) processes and follow instructions provided by supervisors.
  • Utilize established systems for mold setup and record quality measurements of components electronically.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment through adherence to 5S principles.
  • Monitor production output and adjust settings to achieve target goals.
  • Work effectively with colleagues on the shop floor to meet production targets.
  • Cooperate with Production Team Leads and Engineers to complete assigned tasks promptly.
  • Maintain tools and accessories used for mold setup, ensuring timely preventive maintenance.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience setting up molds in an injection molding facility.
  • Ability to adapt and respond effectively to changes in production plans.
