Job Overview

Position Summary: The IT Operations Support Coordinator plays a vital role in assisting with the management of production applications within mainframe and midrange computing systems. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the execution of production jobs in mainframe and midrange environments.
  • Utilize COBOL applications and source code management tools to facilitate program package promotions as requested by developers.
  • Engage in collaborative programming practices to enhance knowledge sharing and training.
  • Review and submit procedural documentation while participating in team presentations to foster skill development.
  • Manage incident tickets through tracking software, ensuring accurate updates on actions taken and resolutions.
  • Oversee the operation of the mainframe console, including device assignments and responses to operator messages.
  • Execute various tasks within a 24/7 operational framework, adhering to established computer operation standards.

Required Skills: The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong customer service abilities, flexibility, effective interpersonal communication, leadership qualities, organizational awareness, and proficient problem-solving skills.

Experience Requirements: A minimum of two (2) years of experience within the last five (5) years in IBM mainframe operations and production control, including job scheduling with Control-M. Additionally, two (2) years of experience in a data center environment managing incident tickets using tracking software, as well as familiarity with Endevor for application program management.

Educational Background: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
