Position Overview
We are seeking Full-Time Educational Support Specialists. The responsibilities include:
- Ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for students.
- Implementing lesson plans collaboratively with the teacher and independently.
- Serving as an instructional resource and providing support.
- Carrying out both instructional and non-instructional tasks as outlined in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) and as directed by the assigned teacher, school nurse, principal, or designee.
- Participating in IEP meetings with students when possible.
- Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) such as toileting, feeding, swimming, and other assigned duties to support each student's program objectives.
- Collaborating with the classroom teacher to develop objectives that address the needs of students, fostering an interdisciplinary approach to goal achievement.
- Maintaining individual student data related to goals and significant observations; providing insights to the classroom teacher to aid in program planning.
- Staying informed about the progress and specific concerns of individual students.
- Actively engaging with students in all educational activities under the direct supervision of the teacher.
- Assuming legal and instructional responsibilities in the absence of the teacher or as assigned.
Position Requirements
Educational & Health Requirements:
Minimum of 60 college credits required.
Compliance with Department of Health Covid Vaccination guidelines is mandatory.
