Job Summary

Discovery Behavioral Health is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Behavioral Health Specialist. This is a full-time position that will work 7pm-7am.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional care to patients through assessment, monitoring, and communicating observations to the treatment team.
  • Plan, implement, direct, and evaluate nursing care provided to patients admitted to Brookdale.
  • Assess psychological and medical issues, prioritizing and reporting to the proper clinical staff and leadership.
  • Administer medications per Brookdale policies and procedures.
  • Promote restoration of health, patient and family education, and serve as a patient advocate.
  • Maintain, adhere to, and promote infection control measures.
  • Provide patients with educational information.
  • Comply with all program policies and procedures as well as regulatory, Joint Commission, and Department of Drug and Alcohol accreditation standards.
  • Coordinate emergency medical care for medical and psychiatric emergencies.
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to resolve patient issues, while also being able to work autonomously.
Requirements
  • Holds a current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Is a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support required.
  • 1 year of nursing experience preferred.
