About the Role

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to join 1910 Genetics as our Chief Information Officer for AI Infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced IT leader who can establish our standard IT best practices, oversee IT onboarding and offboarding tasks, manage relationships with external vendors, and lead and optimize IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer or Chief Data Officer, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing IT projects to support 1910's goals.
  • You will oversee IT onboarding and offboarding tasks, along with being tasked with hardware management.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and manage the internal tooling they provide.
  • Lead and optimize IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Implement and maintain security protocols to protect company data and systems.
  • Develop and maintain plans for disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Identify and implement new technologies to enhance operational efficiency and support innovation.
  • Plan and manage the installation of new organization-wide systems and applications for more specialized functions, assist departments in planning and executing the installation of new systems.
  • Provides Tier I to III/other support per request from various constituencies.
About You

We are looking for a talented IT professional with a strong track record of success in leading teams and implementing cutting-edge technology solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience as a strategic IT leader, with at least 3 years in a VC backed tech or techbio AI native startup.
  • 10 years of expertise in networking, systems administration, and cloud computing (AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • 10 years experience with implementing and managing IT support tools and ticketing systems.
  • 10 years of extensive technical knowledge of Windows network/server architectures, Active Directory, M365, G-Suite, and Teams/SharePoint; knowledge of Linux a plus.
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Cloud/Server technologies, M365, internal and voice networks.
  • Experience with workforce management systems, ideally Rippling.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and improve operational efficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance multiple projects at once and maintain documentation and reporting.
  • Talent magnet who thrives in hiring, retaining, mentoring, coaching, and professionally developing top 1% talent.
  • Excited about working onsite 5 days a week and leading a team that is onsite 5 days a week.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience working for a biotechnology or healthcare company.
  • Experience with lab systems and associated IT requirements, preferably in biotechnology or pharmaceutical research.
  • Experience working for a small to mid-size startup organization.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
