Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Deli Clerk to join our team at Lowe's. As a Deli Clerk, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the highest quality products are available to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining inventory control to ensure freshness and quality of products.
  • Control the level of damaged and spoiled products and ensure proper disposition according to company policy.
  • Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor with customers.
  • Assist in receiving and verifying products to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Deli/Bakery Manager to provide feedback from the store.
  • Follow approved procedures for receiving, pricing, and restocking products to ensure quality protection and accuracy.
  • Implement and follow department merchandising plans.
  • Keep work areas maintained to ensure a safe and clean environment for teammates and customers.
  • Unload trucks, break down loads, and stock products as needed.
  • Assist in training department teammates.
  • Conduct department walks to ensure compliance with Management Awareness policies.
  • Assist in maintaining signs, pricing, refrigerated cases, and display shelves.
  • Work with department teammates to identify and resolve issues and inefficiencies.
  • Interact with teammates to ensure understanding of Lowe's expectations.
  • Adhere to all company policies, programs, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Interact with customers to provide exceptional service.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with Management Awareness policies and goals in the deli/bakery department.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • College background preferred.
  • 1 year experience in deli/bakery department operations.
  • Knowledge of various deli/bakery products and recommended uses or cooking methods.
  • Ability to operate deli/bakery department equipment.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Good customer relations skills.
Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to refrigerated storage areas and damp, humid conditions.

Works on wet or slippery surfaces.

Noise level normally moderate, but can be extreme when power tools or other equipment are in use.

Subject to hazards when operating deli/bakery cutting equipment.

Subject to communicable disease.

Physical Requirements

Heavy work - exerting pounds of force occasionally, and 25-50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Requires walking and/or standing up to a significant degree.

Must be able to climb, stand, bend, push or pull, twist, grasp, squeeze, stoop, kneel, squat, reach, handle, finger, and feel.

Subject to psychological stress.
