The Senior Continuous Improvement and Lean Engineer plays a pivotal role in advancing the lean initiatives within the organization. This position involves collaboration with various teams to enhance operational excellence through a structured approach to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Lead and facilitate the implementation of the Nemera Production System (NPS), ensuring adherence to standards and conducting audits across all components.
- Promote awareness of best practices and foster collaboration among Nemera's facilities and external partners.
- Conduct Lean Six Sigma training sessions for team members to build competencies in continuous improvement methodologies.
- Manage and support projects aimed at enhancing lean processes and flow across transversal operations.
- Develop and oversee the transformation roadmap for the plant, aligning local and central strategies with budgetary considerations.
- Monitor performance metrics, reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) and identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Act as a key user for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and contribute to their development.
- Drive change management initiatives by partnering with operations teams to implement continuous improvement projects.
- Leverage digital tools and analytics to enhance operational performance, including support for Power BI initiatives.
- Identify and implement strategies to reduce costs, lead times, and inventory levels while improving quality.
- Evaluate and redesign workflows and cell layouts to boost productivity and safety.
- Facilitate value stream mapping sessions to pinpoint areas for business enhancement.
- Design and execute projects that deliver continuous improvement outcomes and align with future operational goals.
- Establish measurement systems that support lean manufacturing principles and track progress on cost reduction initiatives.
- Document and communicate enhancements in manufacturing efficiency and resource utilization.
- Develop training programs to promote employee understanding of lean concepts and methodologies.
- Optimize material flow and floor layouts using lean principles.
- Engage in cross-functional initiatives to promote operational excellence across the organization.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in polymer/plastic processing within highly automated settings.
- Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and SAP, along with a solid understanding of Master Data concepts.
- Experience with design software such as Creo, Pro-E, or AutoCAD is preferred.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Familiarity with maintenance performance KPIs and a strong customer-centric approach.
