Job Summary

This position is responsible for the operation, installation, diagnosis, and maintenance of various mechanical equipment in the Garden City/Midkiff/St. Lawrence/South Midland area. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of natural gas characteristics, engine and compressor operations, and maintenance procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, install, diagnose, and maintain mechanical equipment, including engines, compressors, pumps, valves, turbines, heat exchangers, cooling towers, air coolers, filtration equipment, and pressure relief devices.
  • Learn to fill out work permits, lockout/tagout documentation, and participate in tailgate sessions to ensure safe work practices.
  • Understand and adhere to Targa's Safety Policies and Procedures, Business Ethics Policies, and Process Safety Management.
  • Plan and perform assignments in a safe manner, utilizing proper tools, safety precautions, and environmental considerations.
  • Develop a basic knowledge of one's work and its impact on co-workers in the plant and field operations.
  • Be proficient in the use of tools, including hydraulic torque wrenches, laser alignment, dial indicators, micrometers, and other precision tools.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to interface with teams, personnel, and vendors.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to callouts as needed.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in changing climate conditions and close quarters.
  • Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in maintenance and operations of gas compressors with engine drivers, glycol dehydrators, and gas plant processing.
