Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to support the Human Resources functions for the College of Engineering at Louisiana State University. As an HR Generalist, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of HR processes, providing tactical and consultative support to designated departments within the college.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Support: Provide comprehensive support to HR contacts within designated departments, addressing a variety of diverse personnel matters, including recruitment, onboarding, job changes, and salary adjustments.
  • Student Employment: Serve as a student employment partner for college-level student workers, responsible for all aspects of graduate student employment, including hiring, onboarding, continuations, separations, and compensation adjustments.
  • Academic Appointments: Manage academic appointments for faculty and other academic employees within designated departments, including establishing, terminating, and updating academic appointments.
  • Benefits Administration: Work directly with the College's Office of Finance on faculty professorships and oversee all honorific academic appointments for faculty members, ensuring their appropriate setup, upkeep, and discontinuation.
  • Support Services: Assist in the review of faculty summer research calculations and payment submissions within assigned departments, contribute to the preparation of EIB spreadsheets associated with faculty summer research payments, and perform other duties as assigned to support the broader HR team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree and 1 year of experience
  • Master's degree in human resources, industrial psychology, or related field and 2 or more years of experience preferred
