LOCATION: Lancaster, PA

HOURS: Full-time, 40 hours weekly

OFFICE HOURS: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-9:00pm

Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Saturday 8:00am-12:00pm

ROLE SUMMARY: Responsible for delivering nursing services to patients within a healthcare setting. Patient care encompasses various age groups: pediatric (infant to 12 years), adolescent (13 to 17 years), adult (18 to 64 years), and geriatric (over 64 years).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Qualified candidates must possess the capability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following tasks:
  • Offer clinical guidance via phone or electronic communication based on clinical assessments and/or triage protocols in line with regulatory standards.
  • Deliver patient-specific education covering preventive care, chronic disease management, acute diagnoses, medications, and other relevant areas impacting patient outcomes.
  • Prepare patients for consultations using established rooming standards.
  • Administer injections and medications as directed by the healthcare provider, adhering to departmental protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Assist healthcare providers with various procedures, minor surgeries, and examinations as designated.
  • Conduct Point of Care Testing, including but not limited to hearing, flu, urine, and strep tests.
  • Collect blood or other laboratory specimens and prepare them for further analysis.
  • Authorize prescription refills as instructed by the healthcare provider.
  • Support test tracking and monitor overdue results.
  • Remove sutures and change dressings on wounds as necessary.
  • Ensure exam rooms are adequately stocked and sanitized after each patient visit. Maintain and clean medical instruments and equipment post-procedure.
  • Assist healthcare providers and patients in reviewing and adjusting care plans and assess patient progress. Follow up with patients between visits as needed.
  • Engage in proactive outreach for patients needing preventive and chronic disease services.
  • Facilitate care coordination among specialists and transitions of care to gather all necessary patient information.
  • Assist in coordinating referrals, education, and community resources.
  • Actively participate in initiatives aimed at improving overall patient experience and quality of care.
  • Participate in daily briefings with the healthcare provider.
  • Serve as an advocate for patient experience by maintaining a positive demeanor when interacting with patients, visitors, and colleagues. Communicate professionally with all stakeholders while prioritizing customer service.
  • Handle all patient information confidentially in accordance with privacy policies and procedures.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The following tasks are considered secondary to the primary responsibilities listed above:
  • Perform various front office duties as needed.
  • May require some regional travel; a valid driver's license is necessary if traveling.
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Completion of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) educational program.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) issued by the PA State Board of Nursing.
  • AHA CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • This role necessitates occasional regional travel. Ability to travel to multiple sites is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • One (1) to Two (2) years of nursing experience in a primary or specialty care physician's office.
  • Prior experience in triage, emergency room, cardiac care, intensive care, or other related specialty nursing.
