Fleet Mechanic Specialist at US Foods, Inc.

As a critical member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of our fleet road equipment. Your expertise in diesel mechanics will ensure compliance with all trucking regulations.

This role involves completing detailed maintenance logs for all repairs, performing roadside assistance as needed, and adhering to workplace safety protocols. The position requires a minimum of 3 years of commercial diesel mechanic experience or equivalent certification.

About the Role
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues with diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units
  • Perform preventative maintenance to extend the lifespan of our vehicles
  • Document all repair orders and parts usage for accurate tracking and reporting
  • Respond to roadside service calls and transport equipment as necessary

We offer a competitive salary of $26.00 per hour, along with benefits starting day one, including medical, dental, vision, 401K, and life insurance. Eligible new hires will receive a $5,000 retention bonus.

Schedule: Sunday - Friday, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial diesel mechanic experience or equivalent certification
  • Demonstrated expertise in diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities
