Job Purpose

At Rise Baking Company, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Equipment Specialist to support our maintenance program by focusing on plant equipment and building maintenance in a manner that meets and complies with all food safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems with plant equipment, including mechanical drive systems, HVAC, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems with plant equipment, including wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, electrical installations, transformers, motors, and AC/DC motor drives.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Perform building maintenance and repairs, including air conditioning, lights, and forklifts.
  • Perform small repairs on equipment to prevent long-term downtime until permanent repairs can be completed.
  • Report food safety and quality issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • A 2-year degree in electronics/maintenance mechanics or 3+ years of experience in a maintenance mechanic role.
  • Experience with repair or preventive maintenance in hydraulics, pneumatics, machine shop, electricity, or electronics.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Working knowledge of lockout/tagout programs.
  • Working knowledge of boiler operations.
  • Experience with ammonia, freon, or other cooling media.
  • Ability to weld small repairs using MIG/TIG welding techniques.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts to identify solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000-$85,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Rise Baking Company offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
