We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Protection and SCADA Manager to join our team at LCEC. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of our System Protection and SCADA philosophy.
Key Responsibilities- Lead System Protection and SCADA Functions: Develop and implement the protective relaying philosophy, execute system coordination and protection studies, calculate protective relay settings, and develop electrical control drawings.
- SCADA System Planning and Maintenance: Plan, design, program, and maintain the SCADA system to ensure it accurately reflects the electric system and meets operational needs.
- Commissioning and Testing: Develop and implement commissioning and test procedures for SCADA systems, protective relaying systems, and associated protection and controls schemes.
- Representative and Liaison: Represent the organization's interests in system protection, system reliability, and SCADA activities with internal and external stakeholders.
- Team Leadership and Development: Provide work direction to a team of engineers and technical resources, select and develop a highly qualified and motivated staff, and provide performance evaluations and coaching.
- Problem-Solving and Resolution: Lead and support resolutions to problematic field situations related to system operation, system protection, and SCADA.
- Business Partnerships: Partner with peers, project managers, and project/program teams to enhance overall business results and identify and influence the implementation of best practices.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (prefer electrical or power) - Required
- Experience: 10+ to 15 years of progressive experience in the electric utility environment, with 8 years of experience with a Professional Engineering License
- Skills and Abilities: Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Professional Suite, demonstrated ability to engage effectively with all levels within and outside of the organization, strong organizational skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
