Position Summary

This role involves carrying out assignments associated with research, design, development, support, or manufacturing of specific parts, processes, software, or components of medical diagnostic systems. The successful candidate will independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in FPGA design and implementation, embedded DSP software, and high-level digital/analog signal processing. They will also have a system-level mindset when troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities
  • Act as an individual contributor, core team, or technical lead for a specific project or product line.
  • Accountable for the completion of assigned deliverables in accordance with approved schedules.
  • Author documentation and participate in activities in support of design control.
  • Independently plan, perform, and prioritize tasks that are complex in nature, in alignment with corporate goals.
  • Analyze and interpret data, identifying trends and formulating the next steps, while effectively performing trade-off analysis.
  • Lead, design, and/or develop new test methods, specifications, technical apparatus, software, and processes for complex components and functions.
  • Evaluate complex designs or processes, with respect to acceptability, suitability, and cost.
  • Recommend preferred design options and present trade-offs.
  • Identify product defects and explain and document their impact.
  • Effectively communicate technical information to a multidisciplinary team in the form of documentation, presentations, and technical summaries.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians assigned to the project.
  • Provide technical support for or lead CAPA or complaint investigations.
  • Independently generate predictable schedules for activities related to the function, understanding cross-functional dependencies.
Secondary Functions
  • May review and provide input to deliverables from other functions.
  • Recommend and drive improvement initiatives and motivate others to implement.
  • May be assigned CAPA ownership.

  • Technical Experience
  • FPGA 5-10 years in FPGA design and implementation and/or embedded DSP software
  • High Level Digital/Analog Signal Understand digital and analog circuits, component selection, and debugging of mixed-signal devices.
  • Control System Design and managing the systems that allow to control different processes to produce products.
  • System Level Root Cause Ability to have system level mindset when comes to trouble shooting and root cause issues.
  • Design and prototype simulation models and hardware implementations
  • Noise/EMI/EMC Understand compliance concepts and testing.
  • Power Electronics and Distribution
Leadership
  • Product Life Cycle experience. Proven Track record to bring product from concept to launch.
  • Project Level leadership experience
  • Technical complexity, Modular and System Level Integration
  • Maintain communication at program level, communication skills, with the ability to develop, document, and maintain process, methods, and tools.
  • Support technical reporting for projects and proposals
  • Self-starter who can function independently.
  • Analytical and Methodical skills

Qualifications
  • Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or a related field
  • Experience: Twelve years of product development or relevant experience
  • Eight to ten years of product development or relevant experience for advanced degrees
  • For internal candidate promotion:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in meeting all competencies of current level and acceptable performance history may be used in lieu of experience
  • In vitro medical device experience highly desired
