Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Lead Technical Faculty to join our team at the State of Georgia. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for implementing, revising, and evaluating the assigned program's curriculum according to state standards and the college's approved curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop program and course outlines, goals, and objectives that meet individual needs, interests, and state standards.
  • Evaluate students' progress and performance, knowledge, and skill in attaining goals and objectives in subject/course being taught on a regular basis and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Oversee and manage experiential learning components of the program area, including live work, practicums, simulated environments, and internships courses.
  • Coordinate course needs for adjunct instructors and maintain a record of student attendance.
  • Request and maintain supplies and equipment and prepare required budget requests.
  • Participate in assessment, planning, budgeting, and staff development.
  • Maintain program certification requirements, as appropriate, and prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports.
  • Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area and plan and implement a lab management and safety plan.
  • Meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students.
  • Understand and adhere to the components of the annual faculty evaluation instrument and perform student advisement.
  • Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts and promote excellence and advancement of student aspirations and potential.
  • Support and work toward institutional vision, mission, and goals and maintain contact with the business community to keep abreast of technological changes and community needs.
Requirements
  • A diploma in Air Conditioning Technology, recognized regional or national certification, or competence gained through exceptional experiences.
  • Three years relevant work experience within the past seven years.
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred.
