We are seeking a skilled Welder I to join our team at Wood plc. As a Welder I, you will be responsible for accurately interpreting and applying information from work orders, job orders, specifications, ISOs, blueprints, or other drawings.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret and Apply Technical Information: Accurately interpret and apply information from work orders, job orders, specifications, ISOs, blueprints, or other drawings to ensure safe and efficient execution of welding tasks.
- Operate Hand and Power Tools: Identify, recognize, and demonstrate safe usage of hand tools and power tools appropriate for the job, ensuring compliance with company safety protocols.
- Material Handling and Safety: Recognize various materials used in the craft and demonstrate a working knowledge of appropriate material handling techniques, ensuring safe and efficient handling of materials.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Select and safely use appropriate equipment, including manlifts, fork lifts, and company trucks, ensuring compliance with company safety protocols and proper maintenance procedures.
- Safe Rigging Practices: Demonstrate knowledge and skills in safe rigging practices, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of welding tasks.
- Crane Signals and Operations: Identify, explain, and perform crane signals, ensuring safe and efficient execution of welding tasks.
- Welding Experience: Must own a welding machine and have a minimum of 2 years of journeyman experience welding various types of materials.
- Helper Experience: Candidate should have 1-2 years of experience as a helper in the welding field, or completion of formal classroom training in the welding field may substitute for helper experience.
- Driving Record and Insurance: Must have a clean driving record and be able to provide proof of insurance.
- Pre-Employment Requirements: Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and fit test.
