Quality Engineer for Electronic Components

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Electronics Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Fast Lane Recruitment Group.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting supplier audits and working with suppliers to improve their quality systems.
Responsibilities
- Conducting supplier audits to assess their capabilities in meeting internal and customer requirements.
- Working with suppliers to continuously improve their quality levels through proactive communication and collaboration.
- Resolving supplier component quality issues while ensuring compliance to specifications.
- Utilizing problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5P, 5-why, FTA, etc. to ensure effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Facilitating strong communication between suppliers and Astemo to instill a sense of partnership.
- Tracking supplier performance and working with suppliers to improve the quality of parts coming into Astemo.
- Maintaining high analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy on data analysis.
- Communicating with customers regarding change points, customer claims, and customer new models, as needed.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, preferably with 2 years of experience in electronics or a related field.
- Knowledge of quality systems such as PPAP, IPAQAR, CAPA, and IATF/TS-16949.
- Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) and print interpretation.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and component part specifications.
- Strong knowledge of microprocessors and ability to analyze circuits to component level.
- Bilingual Japanese language translation skills are highly desired but not required.
- Experience in the automotive industry, with emphasis on electronics, is preferred.
Salary Range
$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
