Concrete Craftsman

We are seeking a skilled Concrete Journeyman to join our team at Bechtel Corporation. As a Concrete Journeyman, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of concrete work on our projects.

• Mixes and verifies grout specifications, including temperature and grout/water quantity.
• Flags concrete trucks and checks truck tickets to ensure the correct mix is being used.
• Removes rough or defective spots from concrete using a grinder, hammer, and/or chisel.
• Wets and rubs concrete with an abrasive stone to impart the appropriate finish.
• Screeds, floats, and trowels poured concrete floors, walls, and sidewalks to specified textures using hand tools or power tools.
• Operates power trowels and concrete saws during paving operations.
• Directs concrete to the forms and spreads it to a specified depth and workable consistency.
• Molds expansion joints and edges using jointers, straight edge, and edging tools.
• Assists in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
• Cleans tools and equipment.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
• Performs a variety of tasks involving safe dexterous use of hand tools.
• Safely operates power tools and equipment.
• Must be able to stand or walk on rebar mats (narrow surfaces).
• Must be able to climb ladders or stairs and work at heights.
• Adheres to all safety procedures.

• Typically requires a minimum of 48 months of industrial construction experience.
