This is a Physical Therapist opening focusing on working with Spinal Cord Injury Patients.
Key Responsibilities- Plans and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to principles and practices of physical therapy.
- Participates in operational and clinical functions for the department, hospital, and corporation.
- Provides direction and assistance to Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Physical Therapy Students, and Therapy Aides in the area of patient care.
- Complies with laws and regulations of appropriate state and federal agencies and Joint Commission guidelines.
- Performs appropriate initial physical therapy evaluations and re-evaluations and designs a physical therapy plan of care.
- Implements and manages a specific and comprehensive treatment plan, and participates in patient discharge planning.
- Actively participates in patient and family education process.
- Complies with departmental policies for documentation.
- Attends staff meetings, team meetings, and mandatory inservices as scheduled.
- Leads staff/team/program meetings and coordinates mandatory inservices and training.
- Assists with care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies.
- Completes charge/productivity documentation and enters charges in an accurate and timely manner.
- Provides supervision/mentorship to Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants, and Rehab Aides.
- Exercises sound judgment in delegating tasks to Physical Therapy Assistants and Rehab Techs.
- Provides feedback on performance in a professional, tactful, and beneficial manner.
- Meets the team/department productivity standards.
- Complies with the established standards of efficient scheduling to maintain appropriate levels of productivity.
- Initiates and conducts PI activities for the department or clinical programs.
- Takes a leading role in the implementation of programs, processes, and procedures and in the re-evaluation of current programs and processes.
- Provides and helps coordinate hospital and departmental orientation for new staff.
- Facilitates new staff on completion of clinical competencies.
- Provides supervision and serves as a primary resource to clinical staff and assists them in refining their skills.
- Plans, attends, and markets/supports Prisma Health-sponsored educational opportunities, community events, and departmental programs.
- Participates in other department and/or professional activities.
- Establishes annual goals related to stated corporate and department initiatives.
