Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Steel Erectors Association. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing periodic and required maintenance and repairs on all company property and equipment, including yard trucks, forklifts, trailers, saws, plasma units, conveyors, and overhead cranes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Inspect electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures, and other components to ensure they remain functional and are up to code.
  • Troubleshoot and repair defective equipment, control voltage circuits, and PLC systems.
  • Repair and install industrial machinery, including welding, diesel engines, and over-the-road flatbed trailers.
  • Work with remote-controlled overhead cranes, welding, diesel engines, and other equipment.
  • Inspect and maintain electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, and other components to ensure they remain at full functioning capacity.
  • Review blueprints to understand the placement of wiring or to comprehend the working of the equipment to provide the right service and repairs.
  • Assemble and install electrical panels and other electrical equipment.
  • Perform periodic and required maintenance and repairs on all company property and equipment, as directed by the maintenance supervisor.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or Technical School Degree with appropriate mechanical and electrical skills.
  • 1-2 years general maintenance and repair experience or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with equipment and automotive repair, including 230/460V/3/60 electrical systems and electric motors.
  • Proficiency identifying common electrical parts, reading a tape measure, understanding variable frequency drives, and using a Multi-Meter.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights.
