Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for executing daily GAAP accounting functions for TMNAS and its associated business units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with GAAP and STAT, ensuring adherence to organizational standards and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). Prepare comprehensive reports on financial performance for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of necessary audit documentation and financial reporting.
- Supervise junior accounting personnel and contribute to their professional development.
- Develop and implement automated tools for updating, analyzing, and reporting financial outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls relevant to job functions and administrative responsibilities.
- Engage in special projects and additional tasks as assigned.
- Exercise independent judgment and discretion in executing assigned tasks.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is preferred or in progress.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience is required.
- Proficient understanding of finance and accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively in various contexts.
- Familiarity with processes, methods, and tools for generating and maintaining precise financial reports.
- Understanding of confidentiality practices and policies regarding organizational and employee information.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and their application; familiarity with Statutory Accounting Principles and Insurance Accounting is advantageous.
- Experience with tools for updating and validating general ledger data; familiarity with SAP and Blackline is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey information to business units.
- Strong organizational abilities, including planning, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional customer service skills to address employee inquiries and management requests.
- Emotional intelligence to handle confidential and sensitive company information responsibly.
- Robust mathematical and analytical capabilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- A collaborative approach to working as part of a team.
