POSITION SUMMARY
This role is an hourly position responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of products within a manufacturing environment. The Quality Assurance Inspector plays a crucial role in maintaining compliance with industry standards and company policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct thorough line clearance checks to confirm that production lines are ready for operation.
- Perform equipment swabbing following sanitation procedures to ensure cleanliness.
- Execute quality audits for each production line throughout the assigned shift.
- Document the in-line processes and verify that production runs adhere to pre-approved specifications.
- Report any deviations from specifications or non-conformance to the relevant supervisors.
- Ensure immediate corrective actions are taken prior to production startup for any identified non-conformance.
- Properly label and store non-compliant products in designated areas, following established procedures.
- Conduct periodic quality and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) audits within the production area, with a focus on compliance at critical points.
- Audit ingredients staged for production to ensure no expired materials are utilized.
- Perform temperature checks on ingredients, work-in-progress, and finished products during production.
- Prepare shift reports for the subsequent shift to ensure continuity in quality assurance efforts.
- Conduct case count audits on all products to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Carry out daily pre-operational inspections to ensure readiness for production.
- Assist in validating metal detector functionality and conduct regular checks during the production process.
- Ensure adherence to metal detector standard operating procedures by all operators.
- Report any food safety risks to the supervising personnel.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in Quality Control within a food processing or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.
- Strong mathematical skills, effective communication abilities, and proficiency in computer applications, particularly spreadsheets.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.
- Strong decision-making capabilities and the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
- Physical capability to lift up to 40 lbs.
PREFERRED:
- Understanding of manufacturing environments and best practices.
