We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Starship development team at SpaceX. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing the mechanical systems of our spacecraft.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical systems for our spacecraft, including propulsion, thermal management, and structural components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with other spacecraft systems.
- Conduct trade studies and make recommendations to optimize system performance and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
- Work closely with our manufacturing team to ensure smooth production and testing of mechanical components.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on spacecraft or aerospace systems.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including propulsion, thermal management, and structural components.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with spacecraft or aerospace systems design, development, and testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply engineering principles to complex problems.
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, as required by the US government.
