LEAD MECHANICAL ENGINEER - ROTATING SYSTEMS

Lead Mechanical Engineer specializing in Rotating Systems – involvement in the formulation of Maintenance Strategies and Plans, along with the diagnosis and enhancement of various Major Rotating Equipment (including Gas Turbines, Generators, Centrifugal and Reciprocating Gas Compressors, and Air Compressors) as well as other Mechanical Equipment (such as Pumps and Manual Valves).
The Lead Mechanical Engineer will provide guidance on Maintenance Engineering aspects, ensuring the implementation of suitable strategies for all Mechanical and Rotating Equipment within Oil & Gas operations. The primary goal is to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of Oil & Gas by establishing optimal maintenance strategies, plans, and resources for Safety and Production-related equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Establish optimal maintenance strategies and plans for all Safety and Production-related Mechanical and Rotating Equipment.
  2. Maximize equipment availability by determining spare parts for preventive maintenance activities and critical spares.
  3. Utilize SAP PM or other CMMS for creating master data and managing maintenance workflows.
  4. Lead or assist in the Root Cause Failure Analysis process and preventive maintenance optimization techniques.
  5. Identify opportunities for optimization to enhance safe hydrocarbon delivery and reduce production deferment.
  6. Standardize maintenance routines and frequencies to optimize costs and equipment availability.
  7. Develop, document, and implement essential procedures and guidelines.
  8. Provide support and troubleshooting assistance for maintenance challenges.
  9. Engage in technical review exercises related to Maintenance and Integrity Disciplines.
  10. Employ data analysis for equipment condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.
Essential Knowledge Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of HSE requirements in production facilities.
  • Technical proficiency in Mechanical and Rotating Equipment maintenance for Oil & Gas operations.
  • Experience with Onshore and/or Offshore Upstream assets.
  • Knowledge of Budgeting and Cost Control for Maintenance activities.
  • Ability to define technical scopes of work for maintenance services and assess service contracts.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Field experience in the Maintenance discipline.
· Willingness to travel to various regions.
· Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
· Proficiency in English (both spoken and written); Spanish is an advantage.
· Familiarity with CMMS (SAP PM), Microsoft Office suite, and relevant software skills.
· Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
· 5-8 years of experience in the oil and gas sector in Mechanical and Rotating Equipment.
· Certifications related to Vibration, CBM, CMRP, SMRP are preferred.

The candidates must be fluent in English, both spoken and written. Proficiency in Spanish is desirable. Regarding software skills, proficiency in CMMS (SAP PM) and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Familiarity with MS Project, PI Vision, and PI OsiSoft is a plus.

Regular working hours are 8, effective, exclusive of lunch hours. Under normal circumstances, personnel is not required to work more than the regular working hours unless specific approval is given by the Supervisor or Contract Holder.
