Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse team of engineers and technical staff, ensuring effective workload distribution and fostering professional growth.
  • Ensure quality control in engineering processes related to design and hydrologic modeling.
  • Conduct detailed engineering analyses and modeling for civil and environmental projects, emphasizing sustainable solutions.
  • Review and validate engineering documentation to guarantee adherence to regulatory standards and community expectations.
  • Engage in field assessments to support modeling and design efforts.
  • Manage project lifecycles, including planning, budgeting, and stakeholder communication.
  • Collaborate with various departments and external partners to facilitate project execution.
  • Deliver presentations to stakeholders, outlining project developments and recommendations.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to support the organization’s objectives.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role includes direct supervision of engineering personnel and technical staff.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Agricultural Engineering from an accredited institution, with a minimum of six years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Master's degree in a related field is preferred, along with supervisory experience.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Professional Engineer License in the State of Texas is required.

Skills and Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of engineering principles applicable to hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design practices and flood management regulations.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools, including GIS and hydraulic modeling applications.
  • Strong project management and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships across various teams.

Work Environment

The position may involve both office-based tasks and fieldwork, requiring adaptability to various environmental conditions.
