Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for assessing patients and safely performing routine CT procedures in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate patient care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Operate imaging equipment to complete procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete quality control procedures and perform notification/remediation as warranted
  • Assist in departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance
Requirements
  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or computed tomography ARRT (CT) certified
  • Current unrestricted license in the state of practice
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced certification in CT required within one year of becoming CT registry eligible
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
  • Ability to work with and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure
Work Environment

This position requires working in a patient care area, with exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue. The incumbent must be able to stand for prolonged periods and travel throughout and between facilities.
