Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance and Infection Preventionist Nurse applies knowledge and experience by offering guidance pertaining to infection control, skin assessments, safety, and resident rights. This role assists with the development, implementation, and modification of policies and procedures. The nurse conducts system reviews, audits, data collection, and creates reports to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads and participates in the Quality Assurance Process Improvement (QAPI) program, taking a proactive approach to quality care and services with engagement of residents, family members, and staff.
  • Reviews unresolved issues/concerns and any other areas that remain out of compliance from previous meetings to develop a timeframe for correction.
  • Collaborates with the team to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures related to infection control and quality assurance.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license with applicable state, without restrictions, and/or ability to obtain state-specific license.
  • Infection Preventionist Certification; if not currently obtained, must be obtained within the first six months of employment.
  • Demonstrates leadership ability.
  • Must be capable of performing the Essential Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
