The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a vital role in delivering essential patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients in a medical-surgical setting.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood glucose levels as necessary.
- Assist patients with personal hygiene and daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and eating.
- Support patients in mobility and ambulation to promote independence.
- Communicate any significant changes in patients' physical, mental, or emotional conditions to the nursing staff promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in patient rooms and common areas, ensuring they are well-stocked and orderly.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
Minimum Work Experience: Experience in acute care settings is preferred.
Required Skills: The role demands critical thinking abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to operate with minimal supervision. Candidates must thrive in high-pressure environments and respond appropriately to various situations.
Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
Licenses: Certified Nursing Assistant license is required.
