We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Specialist to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized mammographic procedures.
Key ResponsibilitiesExecute basic clinical competence in mammography, selecting accurate technical factors on an individual patient basis and demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the patient.
Apply knowledge of mammographic principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation safety and physics, radiographic positioning and patient care skills, adhering to regulatory compliance standards.
Document accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.
Ensure a safe and appropriate work environment, maintaining supplies and inventory in area, and documenting and reporting related equipment/environmental problems in accordance with policy.
Participate in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience, and quality, actively participating in student and employee training and educational activities.
Associate Degree or Certificate in radiologic technology from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education or Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Minimum of 2 years of Mammography experience, or 1 year experience specialized in interventional procedures, with regulatory expertise in ACR/MQSA regulations.
Registered with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (M), Licensed Radiographer - State of MD, and Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
Cambridge Out Patient Services require both Mammographic skills and Xray Skills.
