Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Specialist to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized mammographic procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute basic clinical competence in mammography, selecting accurate technical factors on an individual patient basis and demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the patient.

  • Apply knowledge of mammographic principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation safety and physics, radiographic positioning and patient care skills, adhering to regulatory compliance standards.

  • Document accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.

  • Ensure a safe and appropriate work environment, maintaining supplies and inventory in area, and documenting and reporting related equipment/environmental problems in accordance with policy.

  • Participate in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience, and quality, actively participating in student and employee training and educational activities.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or Certificate in radiologic technology from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education or Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

  • Minimum of 2 years of Mammography experience, or 1 year experience specialized in interventional procedures, with regulatory expertise in ACR/MQSA regulations.

  • Registered with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (M), Licensed Radiographer - State of MD, and Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.

Additional Information

Cambridge Out Patient Services require both Mammographic skills and Xray Skills.
