Nutrition Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team in a remote position. As a Registered Dietitian, you will be responsible for implementing individualized nutritional care plans for patients and developing or obtaining patient nutrition education materials.
You will counsel patients, family members, and caregivers on prescribed diets and monitor adherence and response to therapy. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as a high level of self-motivation and initiative.
Responsibilities- Participate in the clinical management of current and potential nutrition patients as part of the Nutrition Support Team.
- Work with the sales team to visit customers, market the nutrition program, and focus efforts on key nutritional business lines to drive profitability.
- Collaborate with branch, pharmacy, clinical, and sales personnel to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Assist regional sales management staff in developing and executing plans to grow nutrition business through specific strategies, goals, and pertinent account information.
- Develop, implement, and monitor enteral and parenteral therapies to counteract the patient's compromised nutritional status.
- Review patient medical history, anthropometrics, and pertinent lab values to assess home nutrition support protocols and make recommendations for nutrition intervention when necessary.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home enteral and parenteral nutrition therapy and assess patients' understanding of and compliance with prescribed diet principles.
- Work alongside the General Manager in maintaining the Performance Improvement Program and ACHC Accreditation.
- Perform in-service education for referral sources, physicians, and nursing agencies, providing instruction on clinical topics related to disease state management, improvement of patient outcome, and reimbursement.
- Bachelor of Science in Nutrition or related field.
- Registered Dietitian with a license to practice in assigned state(s); Certified Nutrition Support Clinician preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- High level of self-motivation, initiative, flexibility, and ability to work under pressure.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
- Must meet company standards for driving record and driver age requirement.
