This position at the University of the Pacific is a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor role, with an estimated salary of $95,000 per year. The job involves teaching, research, and service responsibilities within the Department of Clinic Administration.
About the JobThe successful candidate will be responsible for course directing COH 217, Clinical ODTP and Treatment Planning, and department liaison for ODTP in the clinical practice strand. Additionally, they will teach ODTP in ICS as well as create content for evaluation of ODTP in clinic. Other key responsibilities include serving as generalist faculty in main clinic, including evening clinic sessions, providing didactic and clinical guidance, education, orientation, and mentorship for students, and screening patients for group practices as needed.
Responsibilities- Teaching: Promote maximal learning among all students, oneself, and one's colleagues. Provide feedback and evaluation in ways that preserve dignity, promote learning, develop consistency, and allow others to make valid decisions.
- Scholarship: Share scholarship through publications, presentations, and other means with one's peers. Participate in organizations and groups that encourage and sustain inquiry and provide peer review.
- Service: Perform activities for the common good of the School of Dentistry, the university, one's professional groups, and the community. Bring distinction to the School of Dentistry by one's actions.
- Knowledge: Dental school generalist teaching model, Competency-based education and assessment methodology, Modern pedagogical concepts and application in health professions education, Providing care for patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Integrated, interprofessional care delivery systems, Trends in oral health and oral health education, Dental accreditation standards and processes, Computer skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability: Lead and function in an active change environment. Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, residents, students in a variety of ways including email, texts, one-on-one conversations, small meetings, large meetings, lectures, etc. Inspire excellence and promote innovation.
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a dental school setting.
- Minimum of 5 years of practice experience.
- DDS/DMD or equivalent degree.
