Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cytotechnologist to join our team at Sonic Healthcare. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine prepared slides with a microscope to detect evidence of abnormalities and report findings to pathologists for review.
  • Perform a vital part of the patient care process, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of slides examined and reviewed, as well as hours spent examining slides.
  • Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, championing safety, compliance, and quality control.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of cytology.
  • Cytotechnologist certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
  • Current Tennessee License.
  • Critical thinking, complex problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to operate general laboratory equipment and have basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of laboratory training or experience.

Confidentiality and Security

This role will have routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI). Employees will be trained on reasonable safeguards and are expected to maintain strict confidentiality, as well as abide by all applicable privacy and security standards.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position, eligible for benefits, with a scheduled weekly hours of 40 and a work shift of Monday-Friday, 8a-430p.
