Job Summary

This exciting opportunity is available with the State of Florida, Department of Health. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team as an Advanced Public Health Nursing Professional - Immunization Specialist.

As a key member of our Community Health Outreach Department, you will play a vital role in providing advanced public health nursing services and immunization to the community. Your expertise in phlebotomy, medical procedures, and exam room preparation will be essential in ensuring high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive public health nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients.
  • Administer vaccines to children and adults, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families on healthy behaviors and disease prevention.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • Current LPN licensure in the State of Florida or eligibility to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.22 or 8.27.
  • Six (6) months of nursing practice as an LPN working in a Public Health clinic, Skilled Nursing Facility or hospital care delivery system, or physician's office.
  • Six (6) months or more working as LPN administering injectable medications.
  • Able to work weekend, days, holidays, and evenings based on scheduled events.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) or more years as an LPN administering immunizations to infants, children, or adults.
  • Work experience as an LPN working in a Pediatric Medical Office.
  • Work experience as an LPN working in Public Health.
  • Work experience as an LPN using Electronic Health Records.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $26.54 per hour, commensurate with experience. As a state employee, you will also enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, health insurance, and retirement savings options.
