The Mid Coast Medical Center- Trinity is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technologist to join our team in the Hospital Lab Department. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Laboratory Technologist to perform various laboratory tests and procedures to provide accurate results for patient care. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of quality control, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and complex laboratory tests and procedures, including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, immunology/serology, urinalysis, and limited microbiology.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of test results, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and other laboratory personnel to ensure timely and accurate reporting of test results.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability.
  • Prioritize workloads, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science from an accredited college.
  • 1 year of experience in clinical laboratory setting, preferably as a generalist including blood bank.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or ASCP (or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.

  • $65,000 - $80,000 per annum salary, depending on experience.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position working in person at the Mid Coast Medical Center- Trinity hospital lab department. All shifts available, including day shift, night shift, holidays, and weekends.
