Senior Manager, Control Testing Automation Initiatives

The Senior Manager, Control Testing Automation Initiatives will lead a team of experts in data-based control and control testing digitization and automation techniques. This position requires a strong understanding of data management and data analytics, as well as excellent communication and diplomacy skills to negotiate with senior managers at Director or Managing Director levels.

This role reports to the USPB Operations Control Testing Head and is responsible for control testing automation initiatives within their scope. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of relevant experience, 5+ years in Risk & Controls roles, and 5+ years of direct management experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team that designs automated testing tools and provides support on control design assessment.
  • Serve as a key subject matter expert on control testing automation initiatives and provide automation support when team is assessing an automated control design.
  • Manage the control testing automation pipeline, escalating any blocks and continuously forecasting the work effort.
  • Engage business owners to review Activities-Risk-Controls and gain a thorough understanding of the expected control testing tool, analyzing and defining an executable process.
  • Conduct research as required on data availability, including location, format, and access needed for the target data.
  • Maintain relationships and drive accountability with directs, partners, and stakeholders to drive control testing's success in support of the business's strategy.
  • Handle control testing automation interactions with senior managers at Director or Managing Director levels.
  • Prepare for the rollout and validate the reports that are provided by the automation team to their own team on an escalated basis, determining if the results are acceptable and as planned for the tool.
  • Ensure that directs are validating initial results and performing a hand-off to testing analysts and makes sure that their directs are reviewing related control testing procedures for accuracy.
  • Serve as liaison with testing analyst and automation team on any issues that may occur with the automation after the rollout for escalations.
  • Maintain the automation dashboard, ensuring timeliness and quality of projects being delivered.
  • Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
  • Support other relevant work efforts of the department where needed and as directed by their manager.
