Electrical Systems Specialist

About the Role
The Microprocessor Technician plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant's electrical, instrument, HVAC, communications, weighing systems, and process control systems.
Key Responsibilities
As a Microprocessor Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting electrical and electronic components throughout the facility, including auxiliary equipment. You will also maintain, upgrade, and improve PLCs and their programming, and participate in improvement initiatives involving the digital transformation of our company.
Work Schedule
The typical work schedule is 7am – 5pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend and evening shifts as needed.
Requirements
- Actively participate in our safety process, including complying with all safety rules and procedures, and achieving 100% in Safety Engagement.
- Work the scheduled hours and be available for after-hour support as required.
- Interact effectively with management, staff, vendors, customers, and work independently, and/or as part of a team.

Education and Experience
- 2-year electrical, electronics, or electro-mechanical degree from an accredited school or a demonstrated equivalent.
- Ability to read and understand P&ID and electrical drawings.
- Ability to size conductors and install rigid or flexible conduit associated with field instrumentation installations.
- Basic understanding of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and PLC's and the I/O's that interface with the field instrumentation.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and be capable of using industrial motorized equipment including lift trucks, boom lifts, etc.
- Basic knowledge of industrial processes to include drive systems, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to operate Powered Industrial Equipment (lift truck, walk behind lift, pallet jack).
Preferred Experience
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in an industrial environment.
- PLC programming including graphic interfaces.
