Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Albany Medical Center. As a Per Diem Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Operating Room department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and Evaluate Patient Needs: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their needs and develop effective care plans.
  • Implement Physician Orders: Administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments and procedures as ordered by physicians.
  • Provide Primary and Emergency Care: Provide immediate care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Collaborate with Nursing Team: Work with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
  • Direct and Guide Ancillary Personnel: Supervise and guide ancillary personnel to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain Certification and Education: Obtain and maintain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and stay up-to-date with the latest nursing practices and technologies.
  • Meet Quality and Safety Standards: Demonstrate knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques, and apply them to support departmental and patient care quality improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of a professional academic nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
